Get In The Swing

I've been totally rubbish at updating this blog lately. I must get back into the swing of things. I know what it is though... now I've got a job, I don't have hours and hours and hours to fill/ kill!

So...since last time...

On 25th April, I ventured to see We Are Scientists at the Shepherds Bush Empire. It was so good, they were fantastic. As usual.

I hadn't been there before, so wasn't sure what to expect in terms of capacity/ layout, etc. It's your usual theatre layout, not too big. I'd say about the same as Koko??? I bought stuff, had a couple of drinks and then launched myself into the baying crowd from the first song. I wasn't expecting myself to do it, but I saw a gap and took it! Ended up about third from front and got totally drenched and bruised. Loved it!

I was in the throng the whole way through but made the decision to get out of there before the encore. I knew these kids were going to take it to a whole new level once they heard Great Escape and I chickened out! I attempted to take videos instead, but although they looked fine, sounded bloody awful as I ended up too near the speaker stacks. Dammit.

Oh, and Oxford Collapse were supporting. We did see them, but they didn't do anything for me I'm afraid. I like a bit of melody in my music and it just wasn't there.
